It doesn't take long when talking to Steven Falconer to figure out that he is a bit childish at heart. I don't mean that as a negative criticism when I say that either. Steven Falconer approaches his work with the same eagerness and sense of fascination that we all did when building our first house out of Lego's.
My analogy can be quickly observed when looking at Steven's work. A model examines a large format camera as if it's a device from an ancient past. She seems curious, playful, intrigued, and completely unaware of her own nudity in the same way a child plays on living room floor while the adults look on. In another frame we see a model jumping for joy, her hair flying widely, as if she is learning to swim and enjoying the ecstasy of weightlessness for the first time. These women are not trying to be sexy or attempting to seduce the viewer. They are simply themselves trying to discover a new world around them.
