Skewed Perspective Barbara Traub

Every once in a while a photographer like Barb Traub comes along who reminds us why it is that images of the nude are so fascinating. Here we have an artist with a vision so clear that the body often seems to blend with earth and sky becoming one all powerful creation.

Barbara Traub is a photographer and multimedia artist who was born and raised in Baltimore, Md. and currently resides in San Francisco, Calif. Twenty years ago she began her photographic studies in Florence, Italy. In 1987 she won the Baltimore Sun Magazine annual photo contest and traveled around the world to photograph people in their own milieu.

The following years were focused on refining aspects of portraiture, architecture, and composition. Traub then went on to photograph the figure as landscape, presenting the body as a means for exploration and abstraction. Barbara has also spent a decade documenting Burning Man, the annual arts and performance festival held in the Nevada desert. Her work is included in exhibitions, publications,... MORE

About TRAUB


Barbara Traub is an accomplished photographer living in the competitive area of San Francisco, California. Having studied her craft abroad she has spent the last twenty years concentrating her focus on capturing humanity with her camera which includes a decade long documentation of the notorious Burning Man festival.
