The photographic style of Peter van Stralen is quite direct and simple. Having been strongly influenced by graphic design he enjoys playing with shapes and forms using the dancer as his muse. Since the beginnings of his photographic career he has been convinced that less usually means a whole lot more.

Both form and composition play and important role in Peter's work and he feels the use of color would distract too heavily from the essential qualities of his images.
