In a field dominated by middle-aged males, Rebecca Tillett has always felt a little out of place and yet completely comfortable at the same time. She began expressing her aesthetic love for the naked female body sometime during the dirty drugged-induced emaciated self-loathing grunge era and hasn't looked back since.
At only 22 years old, she feels lucky to have discovered her passions and desires while she still has the time to pursue them. She was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico and was an only child to one workaholic parent and one alcoholic depressive parent. Living in such a situation triggered an undying desire for facets of self expression and the most painful craving to create something beautiful.
What made you choose to work with the female body and the nude?
This question is much more difficult than it sounds. All I can say is that I'm magnetically drawn to it. I'm drawn to the lines, the form, the curves, the overall beauty and vulnerability yet strength it projects.
