How many times, for a half second, can a man capture the image of a perfect girl passing behind a tree, or reproduce that magic feeling that only lasts a moment in time? Since meeting his wife Anne, the answer to that question for Christophe Vermare is quite a few; which is clearly evident when looking at his work.
Christophe Vermare grew up on the Atlantic coast in Montalivet, France. Living in a nudist family, he realized very quickly the most important thing in life was not the Swedish girls taking in the sun all day long, but instead the fraction of a second when he thought he saw the curved shape of a breast through a mesh of hair with the sky expanding majestically behind.
You mention in your bio that you grew up in a nudist family. How do you feel that has affected your work as a photographer?
It surely affects all my life! Taking photos, I try to reproduce and/or induce vision that I had/have. Those visions are mostly about nudity and having nude people around make those vision parts of the reality. For example, imaging a nice women... MORE
