While in the cut and thrust of the book world publishers face competition from rivals, it's rare to see two titles in the same catalogue that may have to square up to each other.
Phaidon must have been aware of the risk with the two new collections of photojournalism now hitting the bookshops. But Weegee, the work of Arthur Fellig, and Magnum Stories, with its dense mix of images and testimonials from more than 60 of the photo agency's greatest lensmen, make a rather handsome pair and while purchasing one it would appear churlish not to take the other.
