Sony has recently announced a new 'SLR-Like' camera that is sure to shake things up a bit in the competitive digital camera market. The new DSC-R1 features an APS-C size 10.8 million pixel CMOS sensor coupled with a non-removable 24 ' 120mm lens. The camera is unique among pro level equipment in that it is capable of providing real time image previews through the EVF and LCD monitor unlike more traditional style SLR's which have the mirror box and prism in the way. How well a design like this will hold up over time is anyone's guess but the news is still something to look at closely.
