It is with a bit of a heavy heart that I announce Konica Minolta is withdrawing from the camera and photo business. My very first SLR was an old Minolta SRT 101 and I still maintain the fact that the Maxxum 9 is one of the finest film SLR bodies the market has ever seen. It's a shame to see another manufacturer close up shop making alternative options for serious photographers harder and harder to find.
Konica Minolta will be transferring assets related to their camera business to Sony who will continue to develop digital SLR's based around the Konica Minolta lens mount.
