In perhaps one of the least surprising announcements before this years PMA show, Canon has announced the upcoming release of the EOS 30D. What is surprising however is how little is changed between the best selling 20D and the new 30D which aims to replace it. Mega-pixel count and basic image processing is left unchanged and the new model now sports a larger viewfinder, spot metering, and a longer shutter durability. Canon's philosophy here is simple ' if it aint broke, don't fix it.
