Showing that once again the mega-pixel war is far from being over, Casio has announced the first ever 10.1 mega-pixel ultra-compact in the form of the Exilim EX-Z1000. Built around a remarkably small 1/1.8 inch, 10.1 MP CDD, the EX-Z1000 boasts such advanced features as a large 2.8 inch LCD as well as Casio’s own Anti-Shake technology. Very surprising in such a compact model is an ISO 3200 high sensitivity mode.
I personally have my reservations about such a high mega-pixel count squeezed into such a small sensor. Don’t expect miracles when it comes to noise with the ISO 3200 setting but then again Casio has been known to surprise me with their ultra-compacts.
