We all knew it would be coming, but few knew it would be so soon. Sony has today released information about the new A100 D-SLR – Sony’s first camera based around the former Konica-Minolta lens mount.
Based on pictures alone the A100 looks very much like the former Maxxum 5D only slightly more refined. This isn't such a bad thing and with a few technical improvements such as a 10 mega-pixel sensor and a sensor vibration sensor intended to clear away dust this could be a worth camera to rival the Canon and Nikon camps.
Sony has also announced the release of twenty-two (yes 22!) new lenses to fit the camera. Many of them are re-labeled KM lenses but a few are brand new including some with Carl Zeiss optics.
