Hasselblad has announced the new H3D medium format camera system which is strangely described as 'the World's first 48 mm full-frame DSLR camera system'. The digital back part of the camera features a 48 x 36 mm sensor, which is most likely two 35mm sensors attached together. It will be available in either 22 or 39 megapixel flavors.
What is bound to ruffle a few feathers however is that the H3D no longer supports third party backs from manufactures such as Phase One and will instead require the user to shoot with one of Hasselblad’s own backs.
