If there are any museums in Europe that you've been meaning to go to but just haven't gotten around to it, you suddenly have one less excuse on your list. Approximately 1,200 museums across Europe will allow free entry on May 14 and remain open until 1.00 am (2300 GMT) as part of the first "night of the museums", stated French Culture minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres.
Museums of visual arts, science, and industrial and rural heritage and popular culture will participate in the event which will begin at 7 pm (1700 GMT) on Saturday May 14. A high turnout is anticipated across the continent for the event.
