Paris Photo 2005Each year during the month of November Paris Photo hosts some hundred galleries and publishers from around the globe at the prestigious Carrousel du Louvre. The fair offers a clear perspective on trends and the market to art lovers and collectors and will take place from November 17th to the 20th.
Over 40,000 individuals are expected to attend the event which features over 90 galleries and 100 exhibitors. Works from such artists as Diane Arbus, Robert Frank, Nan Goldin, Ralph Gibson, Helmut Newton, and Peter Elliston will be on display to the general public.
Spain is the guest country of honour for this 2005 fair. The Statement selection was entrusted to Rosa Olivares, guest curator and director of EXIT, Imagen & Cultura, the quarterly, thematic and bilingual (Spanish and English) magazine.
This year's Statement galleries are offering a strong, lively vision of today's photography by way of eight one-person shows, each highlighting the works of a young artist from Spain.
