World Body Painting Festival
Taking Skin Art to the Next Level

Each year in midsummer, in the middle of breathtaking scenery, the south of Austria plays host to the World Body Painting Festival; a get together of body-artists from all over the world. The event will be held from the 17th – 23rd July, amidst the mountains and lakes in the south of Austria. Artists from around 40 Nations – including Australia, China, South Korea, Canada, USA, Argentina, South Africa and more – will be coming to the festival to compete for prizes and recognition among the art and photography community.

The festival is regarded as the best gallery in the world for artists to exhibit their body art work. Over 25,000 visitors are expected in the upcoming world championships for body painters. The Lake Millstätter region's scenery is the stage, where bodies are boldly put on show, and each artist has the opportunity to show their own specialties - bodies painted with many different materials and techniques, and sometimes combined costumes, masks and show effects.

Including as part of the festival are themed competitions as well as official awards for categories such as air brush technique and special effects. In addition, the festival will be hosting several workshops as well as competitions in the categories of film making and photography.
