As far as Cristoph Math is concerned he has always been a photographer. He took his first nude at the age of 15 and hasn't stopped shooting since. He was born in the city of Milan and studied for three years as an assistant under Luigo Feracin, moving his high school courses to the evening to make room.
In his adult live, Cristoph spent several years in London where he took up photography full time at Islington College. However, his Italian roots got the better of him and it wasn't long before he moved back to his homeland.
The work of Cristoph Math harkens back to the early days of Vogue Magazine when pioneers such as Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon defined the world of photography with work that was cutting edge, sensual, and undeniably raw. There is a fine line presented in many of his images between the nude and fashion and his choice of wardrobe is often as timeless as the naked body. The two genres blend hand in hand.
His work doesn't need the flash and shock value that so many young photographers seem to rely on today.... MORE
