Sascha Hüttenhain Soft Bodies

The juxtaposition of an aesthetic body combined with the apparently hard and angular forms of the working world is one of the driving forces behind the work of Sascha Hüttenhain. Basic geometric shapes work as a contrast to the soft angular forms of the human body in a way that creates a beautiful cemetery. A yin and a yang tied together if you will.

Ballet and dance become the perfect compliments to this idea in the work of Sascha Hüttenhain. Bodies become true expressions of form, freed from emotion save what is given to them by the viewer of the photograph, not the maker. A certain degree of kinetic energy is displayed despite the rigid forms of Sascha's models. Arms and legs are thrown outward creating forms not unlike the shape of a bridge, a skyscraper, or even your car. It is truly a case of humanity becoming the inspiration for our own creations.

When viewing the work of Sascha Hüttenhain, it becomes easy to get lost in the obvious beauty and perfection of both his subjects and his craft, and that is perhaps the intention of his work. Deeper readings are not necessarily... MORE
