Tuomas Martilla took up the camera as early as sixteen years old when he was given his first SLR camera. So passionate was he about the craft of photography that by the age of twenty-one he was earning a living with a camera.
Starting his commercial career in an advertising studio, Martilla has since formed his own business taking on the production of stock images, commercial, and fashion assignments. The true passion of his work however comes in the form of artistic nudes; a genre that he believes represents his own personal feelings about art and all things visually beautiful.
Today, Tuomas Martilla is happily married and lives approximately seventy-five kilometers outside Helsinki. When it comes to photography his philosophy is simple; always be yourself and your true vision will form naturally into your work as a result.
