Influenced by Renaissance paintings, Ohmori loves to play with light and shadow. Soft window light, the delicate fabric of a couch or sofa, clothes hanging off a models shoulder; all these subtle elements play important roles in his work. You will never see a photograph by Hiroyuki Ohmori taken at the beach. That would be much too bright and overbearing for his frame of mind. For Ohmori, it's all about the private moments and the things one does not immediately see as beautiful without the assistance of a photographs natural frame.
