Valentin Sichinskiey was born in 1955 in Odessa where he continues to live today. He is married and has two adult children, who he admits are more important to him then anything else in the world.
Valentin is a university graduate; he has a technical education and experience in practical engineering as well as a knowledge of analytical chemistry. His knowledge of basic photography however is something he learned on his own through hard work, study, and a lot of good honest practice.
Between 1983 and1988 Valentin worked at the Odessa television center as a cameraman, and at the same time he has devoted himself to the art photography. In 1989 he began working as an art photographer in Odessa Literature museum and in 1991 he decided to dedicate his life to his own photography full time.
