Carla van de Puttelaar
Carla van de PuttelaarCarla van de Puttelaar likes to emphasize a lot of things in her work. Alienation, soft eroticism, human touch, and inherent vulnerability are just a few of the words that come to ones lips after viewing her delicate work. Her work is most appreciated when one pays attention to the details; a mole on a bodies skin is left clearly visible in the frame, a purple bruise looks like a romantic flower, the red lines of a bra that was being worn only moments before the click of the shutter.
These works are not sensational in any way, but contain the calm beauty that one finds in an afternoon sleep under a clear blue sky. Coupled with beautiful printing in-between an exquisite hardcover binding this is one book that deserves a prominent placement on any coffee table.
