Simplicity Doug Wade Sometimes it’s the simplest nude that holds the most power in the eye of the viewer. San Francisco photographer Doug Wade understands that better then most in his new self published volume Simplicity. Largely a collection of studio based figure studies; the viewer is treated to a near Zen like appreciation for the complexities of the female nude. The result is a visual experience just as the title of the book would suggest, true simplicity.
The women Doug Wade chooses to photograph are not the professional models we’ve all grown accustomed to in modern media. They’re the average girls we all run into on the street with one exception; they have the bravery and sense of curiosity to pose nude in front of a camera. Some might even go so far as to call them average, but I believe Doug Wade would call them extraordinary. After viewing the work in Simplicity I’m inclined to agree.
